Day 21 - Whitefish, Montana to Livingston Montana

Despite the fact that Going to the Sun Road was closed due to a rockslide, I decided to go as far as I could from the west entrance. Lake McDonald. Rain look eminent today, but I never got more than a couple of drops. It was very hazy. Lake McDonald. The water in this lake is more green than the bright blue/green of the lakes and streams in Alberta. Lake McDonald Lake McDonald Lake McDonald Going to the Sun Road winds up through this valley before beginning its steep ascent. This is a shot that could really have benefitted from a graduated nd filter, but I couldn't pack everything. Here is the same picture as the previous one, with a lot of the highlight and shadow detail recovered with PhotoShop. It doesn't replace a good ND filter, but it does show how much information the wonderful sensors in Canon cameras capture. I use a quick and easy workflow for most photos using BreezeBrowser Pro. The difficult ones I go back and reprocess the RAW files in PhotoShop. A GoldWing and a Valkyrie trike The Valkyrie trike I just love this section of the road. It is carved right into the side of the mountain. The panoramas of the valley get better as you climb. One of several waterfalls along the road Glacier National Park - another waterfall Glacier National Park The weeping wall is about as far as youcan go, due to the rockslide. This is 28 miles from the west entrance. You can see the rest of the park by coming down from the east entrance. Glacier National Park - the Weeping Wall He wanted to get a picture of her against the Weeping Wall Glacier National Park - another waterfall Glacier National Park Glacier National Park - returning from the top Lake McDonald again, later in the day Lake McDonald again, later in the day Here is my trusty steed again. Despite the problem earlier in the trip, I totally trust and appreciate the bike. It has proven to be more capable than any other bike I have owned and more comfortable than I would have expected. It was too big to fit under the awning so he had to back up to the pumps.
