Day 1 - Aurora, Colorado to Great Falls, Montana

This photo was taken on I-25 just south of Cheyenne. I have always noticed this outcropping of rocks, this is the first time I have stopped. The buffalo on the hilltop is just a cutout - there is a cowboy further up I-25 in Wyoming This is a large wind farm in northern Colorado. I love the sounds of those giant blades turning, but they frighten my wife. This is a large wind farm in northern Colorado. Looking north on I-25, about 10 miles south of the Wyoming border Looking south toward Denver - these clouds would be a recurring theme throughout the trip The R1200GSA - clean fresh and fully loaded. The bike won't ever be this clean again. I added just under 1 inch to the sidestand to keep the bike from leaning too far on the sidestand. The Ohlins shocks I installed made the bike sit about 1 inch higher. This is another wind farm just south of Great Falls. This picture was taken with my little Canon SD700IS PowerShot. Later I was stopped for road construction right under these windmills for about 15 minutes. I wish I could have taken some shots right under these. It was a few days before I reconfigured my tank bag to allow me to put my Canon 1DS and 28-300 lens righr in front of me to make it easy to reach. Throughout this trip I learned things I would do differently next time. This is another wind farm just south of Great Falls. This picture was taken with my little Canon SD700IS PowerShot.
